Rich is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. As a co-founder of The Strobel Group, Inc. in 1991, Rich brought 15 years of accounting, audit, and financial experience obtained in various supervisory and managerial positions with Mobil Corporation (now ExxonMobil) and Citicorp.
Penny joined The Strobel Group in 2003 and is currently Vice President. Her prior experience includes accounting and administrative positions at Mobil Corporation (now ExxonMobil) and Citicorp. Penny is a graduate of Lamar University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and Secondary Education teaching certification.

Phil Strobel is a graduate of Marquette University (Bachelor of Science – Accounting). Prior to becoming an M&A Specialist in 1986, Phil enjoyed a 14 year asset based lending career, including three years as Sr. Vice President with First Interstate, preceded by five years with Marine Bank – Milwaukee (now Chase) as Vice President and Commercial Finance Manager. Phil retired in 2020 but remains available to step into a deal-maker role as a backup to Rich in an emergency situation.

Charles S. Strobel (1923 – 1993)
Rich and Phil’s father, Chuck, served The Strobel Group as Chairman during the formative years. Chuck was a shareholder, co-founder, and former President and Vice-Chairman of Sargento, Inc., a $1 billion sales privately-held company headquartered in Plymouth, Wisconsin. Although never active in our day-to-day business, his guidance, support, and encouragement enabled the success our firm enjoys today. Chuck’s counsel and concern are deeply missed. His example of working with common sense and integrity lives on through the continuing efforts of our team.
